The UI is simply called Simple UI and it’s very minimalistic, this design traits being clear especially in the lockscreen, home menu and applications area. The lockscreen involves a simple sliding bar and it shows all the notifications one needs (alarms, missed calls, texts and emails).

The Home menu is very standard with 4 dock icons at the bottom, that include the classic Back and Recent apps virtual buttons, while the My Applications menu seems to include a Games section and a Favorites section. As far as the HTC Skyline concept is concerned, this model resembles the HTC Rhyme quite a bit and its front styling also reminds me of the HTC HD 7. This Android phone probably has a 5 or 8 megapixel camera, 16GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and most likely a dual core processor, although HTC recently launched some single core handsets that were actually decent.

I guess that the display here is around 4 inches in diagonal, a choice that HTC didn’t quite tackle so far, if I’m not mistaking. What do you think about this nifty Android 4.0 UI and handset?

MacBook Earth, Water and Fire Concepts Makes Us Smile

They envisioned three new MacBook designs that would fit in the same category with the Air model: MacBook Fire, MacBook Earth and Water. These three and the Air might just conjure up a Captain Planet laptop from Apple…

MacBook Earth, Water and Fire Concepts Makes Us Smile

The most beautiful of the trio, MacBook Earth is all about organic material, it’s powered b solar energy and wind power as well. It’s got a phosphorescent screen that works on few nanowatts, while its chassis is pure clay, although I’m not sure how good is that with durability. The best thing? You can grow crops on it… mini crops!

MacBook Earth, Water and Fire Concepts Makes Us Smile

The one I personally liked the most was the MacBook Water, that is simply a bottle you pour in front of you, splashing the iFluid on a flat surface. I guess that the fluid has to be special, some sort of mercury or something that doesn’t harm a human being. When you’re done computing, just use a sponge and wipe the device away. Cool, right?

MacBook Earth, Water and Fire Concepts Makes Us Smile

The Fire Apple laptop is the totally outrageous concept, the one that simply involves a too powerful device, one so powerful in fact that it glows. Also, the heat generated here is so huge, that the laptop radiates and tends to melt, but it doesn’t. Of course, these are all parody concepts…

Samsung Bang & Olufsen Smartphone Looks Hot

Inspired by B&O and the classic Samsung design, the device inherits the powerful specs of a Galaxy S II and the sound gear of the B&O brand. Here’s the result:

This model is nicknamed BoPhone M and it comes with a 1.5GHz dual core CPU, HSPA+ connectivity and a 4.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display. The handset measures 9.48 mm in thickness and comes with 64 GB of internal memory. At the back there’s an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, plus a 2 megapixel camera upfront.

As far as connectivity goes, you also get Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi a/b/g/n and USB 2.0. Android 2.3 is the OS of choice and there’s even a nifty accessory for this Samsung concept phone: an enhanced B&O dock that gets the top of the top acoustical technology and “big sound from small speakers”. I must also notice the curved design of the Bang & Olufsen concept phone and the teardrop shape that it uses. Beat this iPhone 5!

Well, it has just turned into a full-fledged smartphone, a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone with very impressive specifications. This is a dual core model, with a Bravia touchscreen and all the standard audio technology for a top notch player/phone.

Sony Ericsson W9, New Walkman Android Phone Features Dual Core CPU, Bravia Touchscreen

Sony Ericsson W9 comes with a 1.4GHz dual core processor, a 4.1 inch Bravia display, 32GB of storage and a 3.5mm audio jack. Walkman 5.0 serves as its music player and you also get Track ID, Clear Bass, Clear audio and an 8 megapixel EXMOR R camera with HD video capture. Android 2.4 is the OS of choice and you also get quick charge support, a 2000 mAh battery and HDMI.

You can connect the device to wireless headphones or speakers via Bluetooth, according to the designer Victor Cao. In the pic below you also get a look at the new and improved UI of the Walkman player, equalizer and whatnot. Hope you like it!

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Frank Tobias decided to stay away from Android for a while and created the Sony Ericsson Xperia aero concept. This light and ergonomic smartphone comes with a user-friendly interface and it skips Android in favor of some other OS that the designer didn’t want to mention.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Aero Could Run Windows Phone or Maybe Even webOS

I can speculate that the OS is Windows Phone 7, since Frank has been receiving suggestions towards this platform. Also, it could be MeeGo or webOS, but let’s see what he decides. As far as specs go, the Xperia Aero comes with an 8.1 megapixel camera at the back and a 3.2 megapixel camera at the front for videocalls.

Bonus, you get a new shot of the Xperia Smart, designed by the same Frank Tobias and pictured below:
